2012 Citizen Survey

The City of Laguna Beach received the results of a citizen survey of resident opinions about the community and services provided by local government. A report summarizing the survey results will be presented to the City Council at its annual Budget Workshop scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in the Council Chambers located at 505 Forest Avenue in Laguna Beach.



Business License Renewal - On-line
5/17/2012  The City has recently expanded its business license renewal to incorporate all business types (renewals only) on-line through the City’s website. In the past, only contractor or flat rate business licenses renewal were offered. Hazardous Waste Collection Contracts Renewed
5/17/2012  This week, the City Council approved renewed household hazardous waste collection contracts with WM Curbside, Inc. and Mercury Disposal Systems. The services provided under these contracts include door-to-door collection of hazardous waste by WM Curbside Inc. One annual pick up is offered to residents at no charge by calling 1-800-449-7587 or scheduling an appointment on the Curbside web site at www.CurbsideInc.com

Frontage Road and Park Avenue Mini-Parks Construction
5/17/2012  Next week, construction of the new passive park on Frontage Road at the intersection of Woodland Drive will begin. The park will be completed and open for use by the end of June. The new view park on Park Avenue, located just east of Hillview Drive, will be constructed in July.

AIPP Broadway Beautification
5/17/2012  On Monday, May 14, 2012 the Arts Commission voted to extend the deadline for submissions for the Art in Public Places project on Broadway. The deadline has been extended to Tuesday, May 29, 2012. On Friday, June 1, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. a special meeting of the Commission will be held to select finalists. Qualified artists may submit their application at www.lagunabeachcity.slideroom.com

Linda Haylett Retires
5/17/2012  After 17 years of serving as a contract Instructor for the City of Laguna Beach, Linda Haylett is retiring her tap shoes. Over the years, Linda has taught arts and crafts and a variety of children’s dance classes. She started “Miss Linda’s Castle” in 2002, which specializes in musical theatre and dance for children ages 18 months to 12 years. She is sad to be leaving but is looking forward to a new chapter in her life.
