Electric Car Charging Stations
The City of Laguna Beach is working toward a more sustainable future by providing electric car charging stations in the downtown area.  Come downtown and charge your car for free!
The charging stations are located at the in the Laguna Canyon Parking lot adjacent to Forest Ave (Google Map):

The charging stations may be accessed on site by calling the 800 number and using a credit card or by joining the ChargePoint America program.

Parking at the charging stations while charging is FREE and the electricity is FREE, but the time limit is FOUR HOURS to allow others to charge.

The stations provide both Level I (110V) and Level II (220V - J1772 connector) charging options. See the ChargePoint America website for usage instructions.

Each station is capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously, one at each level, if there is room to park. Two parking spaces are designated "EV Only" and adjacent spaces require payment or a lot pass.

The purpose of EV charging stations is to foster transportation alternatives which provide local environmental benefits.  Charging an EV at the stations is free for a trial period to assess the usage patterns.  The City Council will review usage data to determine parking rate structures in the future.
